Rhonda Hardin is the owner/groomer (aka PHD...Professional Hairdresser of Dogs) at A-1 K-9 Design Pet Grooming and Boarding.  She previously owned A-1 K-9 Design Pet Grooming in Irondale, Alabama.  Since moving to Ashville, Alabama, she has also moved her salon to Ashville, Alabama.  She has been grooming for 6 years and absolutely loves her profession.  She graduated from Penn Foster Grooming School and then worked with a Mentor while gaining experience in grooming.  She worked for another grooming salon in the beginning of her grooming career and then opened her first salon in her home.  As her client base grew, she moved her salon to a store front location in Irondale, Alabama.   Her business in Irondale, Alabama has recieved a 5 star rating on al.com.  She is continually furthering her education by attending Pet Grooming Seminars, Webinars and networking with other groomers world wide.  She networks and has become good friends with many of the top groomers in the industry and is able to learn new tricks of the trade from them each and every day.  She is a member of the NAPCG (National Association of Professional Creative Groomers).  She also offers creative grooming using temporary or semi-permanent colors.  She has learned which products are safe for use on dogs.  (Not all human products are safe due to differences in a dogs skin and also their sense of smell).  She can do Temporary airbrush tattoo's as other types of coloring using either temporary (products that will wash out immediately) or semi-permanent products (products that will wear off but will not wash right out.)  Giving your pet leopard spots etc or simple coloring of ears and tail etc.   

We are a small family owned and operated business and only use what we believe to be the best and safest products on the market.  We use all natural shampoo's and conditioners etc. (except for occasional necessities which would be discussed prior to grooming) We do not do large scale, assembly line grooming.  Instead, we stay very small and provide one on one grooming which ensures us the time we need to build a special bond with each pet we care for.  We specialize in grooming "special needs" pets and since we are small can take the time to help them feel as comfortable as possible during their grooming.  We are by appointment only so that we can be sure to schedule the time needed for each pet.
